A Voice for the Ocean

A Voice for the Ocean (Une Voix pour l’Océan) is an immersive audiovisual performance combining live violin improvisation, recorded humpback whale vocalizations and projected underwater imagery. It has been presented in concert halls, international policy forums and activist contexts — including the Théâtre du Châtelet and the Grand Palais in Paris, international conferences, NGOs and festivals.

The narrative arc opens with a dialogue between whale and violin (recordings from Cabo Verde and Guadeloupe), until engine noise interrupts — the sound of pollution — and the image blurs. It closes with a soft, melancholic improvisation.
